Hey Folks! I'm back in town after a little road trip to the midwest for a family reunion and I'm ready to give you the lowdown on a few things.

For those who haven't seen the Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter posts yesterday, we are pleased to announce that the Java Expressions mobile app is now available on the Google Play store! This is currently a Google Play exclusive. To my fellow Apple users, (keep faith! 😂) we plan on releasing an Apple version in the near future. In the meantime, we look forward to any feedback to can give us to help improve your app experience. You can download the app from Google Play by searching "Java Expressions" or go to this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appswiz.javaexpressions&hl=en

Speaking of feedback, I hope that you've enjoyed our first couple blog submissions. I know that our blog editor, TruBlu, will keep things flowing nicely. Although most of what you'll see will revolve around the Java Expressions series of events, we want to keep this forum open to submissions/discussion topics from around the arts community and dealing with concerns in the arts community, keeping in tune with the spirit of Java Expressions. To that end, I am extending an open invite to all of our poets, musicians, thespians, dancers, painters, sculptors, photographers, and all of our art lovers & supporters who want to discuss events, artistic trends, announcements for collaborations, artistic testimonies, and other such topics that might not be directly related to Java Expressions but are of interest to our rather diverse pool of performance, written, and visual artists. I intend to have a general guidelines posted up soon, however if you have an idea or a topic in mind that you are ready to write on then go ahead and submit! Please send all submissions using the contact dialogue on the website OR email us directly at JavaExpressionsBlog@gmail.com. Please use "Blog Submission" as your subject line of the email and keep submissions to 1,000 words or less. Also, we ask that you please have a title for your blog entry. If you have an idea or entry that may go more in-depth than 1,000 words then we could discuss making it a blog series or mini-series. For anyone interested in ongoing event promotion (sidebar ads, etc), please email us at JavaExpressions910@gmail.com with the particulars using the subject line "Event Promotion" and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

The last thing I wanted to discuss is our online "scrapbook", Java Reflections. We are still taking submissions on our Facebook page (http://facebook.com/JavaReflections) and will gradually start sharing those submissions to this website. Once again, this is open to anyone who has performed at or attended one of our events over the past 20 years. Share with us your poetry, song lyrics or recordings, or your pictures or videos of the events. If you were inspired by the artists in attendance and as a result have drawn, painted, sculpted, (etc.), please feel free to send us images of your creations to post on the website and the Facebook page. For the time being, all submissions are still requested to be sent by via inbox on Facebook. For any audio or video, please use a web storage (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) and send us a link where we may download the media.

Well, that's it for now, folks! I look forward to seeing you at one of the many events going this weekend from Art Meets Life to Marquis Slam, to the Java Expressions series. Don't forget, we will NOT be doing Acoustically Speaking on July 4th since The Coffee Scene's Spout Springs location will be closed that day. Don't be afraid to reach out with any questions or concerns. Until then...KEEP WRITING, KEEP SHARING!!!
