Disparate Hearts

As faces change with the seasons,
Nature demonstrates her distaste for a vacuum.
Through an eclectic cacophony of voices the collective heart grows.
Each new beat in the ensemble adds to the rhythm...
We are one in the midst of collaborative metamorphosis.
As a group we form
An entity that can move forward
Through this season of dying and darker shorter days
Where the light becomes more precious
And we see each other in a different light
A light, once harsh and meaningless,
Now smooth and sweet
Pulling nostalgia from the deepest parts
Of our distant hearts
And we keep searching, struggling
Looking forward to a day when love finds us
Pushes us to be better than the preconceived notions
Of our little lives and our wildest could be's
Hocus Pocus potions preparing
Parties of 3, my side, your side and then
There's the truth concocting cures for
Ignorance is no longer bliss but
...I'd rather die not knowing what this is
It peels my skin like claws down my back
It's a venomous scratch that latches and attacks
Kills me slow, and resurrects me back
While I lay in the dark searching for the light
You are the reason for my artistic growth
With eyes like thunder
And lips like the sunset
Speaking words that I transfer into art
And place on the bare white walls
Of this empty apartment
I see the same faces on these walls, in these frames,
But I see the new ones within these walls everyday
And suddenly I realize that the faces in the frames may be the same and long gone
But the memories within these frames never change
And are held in place forever like all of the new ones
