Know Thy Self

I'm pulling my own strings

Taking my own destiny in my hands

Absent false accusations of others

I know my own heart

I stand free of anything that would bind me

The winds may blow this way or that, but I stand tall

I stand tall against the elements

Rain, wind, snow, heat

The things that try to keep me back

People, pain, life

I stand tall against all obstacles

And though I might not stand up to all

I am a man who has a way to rise above

And project my thoughts and beliefs

To let myself, my inner thoughts out

And expose them to you

But mostly to myself, to affirm to myself

These roads I've travelled they never end

But my heart's racing, I feel the end

Every bump, every crack, shakes my soul

But I'm moving on, because I'm heading home
