A Musician's Intro...

Hi. Call me Rick. Most everyone else does. We won't go into other names I might be called. This is my first time blogging, so bear with me. I am Registered Nurse working in a small ER in North Carolina. Been a nurse for 30 years, mostly in ER's. It can be stressful, but for the most part, routine.

I have been singing most of my life. Started playing the guitar when I was 42 yrs old so I could play at the church I went to. Self-taught... so if you ever listen to me play, give me some slack, please. Started out as well learning cover songs of artists I grew up with-Neil Diamond, Harry Chapin, Eagles, Garth Brooks. I am for the most part a storyteller, as you will see in my original works. Life tells all kinds of stories, happy and sad, and you may need a beer to cry in for some of them.

Actually, I didn't start writing my own music/songs until about three or four years ago. I started thinking that with all my life experiences, I should be able to write something, since all these youngsters were putting out songs left and right by just looking up at the sky... hmmm.

Anyway, thanks for reading this. I really look forward to June 18 to play for Java Expressions: LIVE. Good feeling always abound when I get the opportunity to perform for ANYONE...but for a new group, it is always so much more exciting.
